Welcome to the East Village Hub changelog - the official chronicle of our relentless tinkering. We update this place as often as a hyperactive barista pulls espresso shots. Fresh features, shiny improvements, occasional chaos, and the odd bug squished with righteous fury.
If you’re reading this whole page… respect. You’re one of the chosen ones.

Version 2.4 — More Dogs. Less Guesswork.
New
- Dogs now have their own home A dedicated Dogs section is live - built for the reality that half of East Village social life is just dogs with humans attached.
- Resident recommendations (properly captured) We’ve added a chunk of new local tips from EV residents - mostly dog-focused, all the kind of “you only learn this after three awkward attempts” knowledge.
- Green spaces for dogs A clearer set of dog-friendly outdoor spots, so you can stop doing the nightly loop based on vibes and hope.
Removed
- The Lab E20 Closed. Gone. Removed. The experiment is over.
- Offers (temporarily) Offers are paused for now while we tighten the backend logic. Better to ship this boring-and-correct than exciting-and-breakable. They’ll be back.
Improved
- CSS tidy-ups Small layout and styling refinements across the site. Less friction, more consistency. If you don’t notice most of it, that’s a compliment.

Version 2.3 — “Less Chrome, More Signal”
Improved
- A calmer, more confident visual system
- Clearer hierarchy (so your eyes know where to go)
- Brand, but with restraint
- Less floating, more grounding
The Hub’s design has had a proper tidy-up. Layout, spacing, typography and colour now work together as a single system, rather than a collection of well-meaning settings.
Headings, cards and page structure have been rebalanced to make scanning easier and long reads calmer.
The new acid-lime signature now appears only where it matters (hello, HUB), instead of quietly shouting from everywhere at once.
Shadows have been removed from cards, callouts and navigation. Everything now sits flat and intentional — like a publication, not an app.
Invisible (but very deliberate)
- Card proportions and spacing have been standardised
- Navigation simplified and de-cluttered
- White space promoted from “nice to have” to “doing real work”
Nothing new to learn. Nothing to click differently.
It should just feel easier to read, easier to browse, and a bit more… finished.
If you don’t notice most of this, that’s the point.

Version 2.2 - “Perks, Pipelines & Polite Guardrails”
New
- Claiming (without the faff)
We’ve teamed up with local businesses to introduce limited-volume offers on the East Village Hub. These are small, genuinely local perks - first come, first served, and very much “once it’s gone, it’s gone”.
You can now claim offers directly through the Hub. When you do, you’ll get a confirmation email with everything you need to redeem it, including a unique Claim ID. No screenshots, no awkward conversations, no “but I swear I saw it online”.
Invisible (but important)
- Offer logic, quietly doing its job
- Claim limits are enforced automatically
- Duplicate claims are gently but firmly declined
- Sold-out means sold-out (no Schrödinger’s discounts)
- Emails go out at exactly the right moment
- Automation gremlins, successfully contained
Behind the scenes, we’ve added some unseen machinery to keep things fair and calm:
None of this is visible. That’s the point. If it’s working, you’ll never notice it.
A small army of automations now scurries around making sure offers behave themselves. They have been fed, watered, and told not to wake the residents.
Improved
- Working with local businesses
Offers are created directly with local businesses and kept intentionally small. No mass promos, no nonsense - just nice things for people who live here.

Version 2.1 - the one with all the metadata.
New
- About page added At long last, a place where we get existential. Who are we? What do we do? Why do we exist? Is this all part of a simulation? Answers: yes, lots, and probably.
- Changelog page added A whole new page dedicated to documenting every tweak, triumph, and tiny disaster - including this very moment you’re reading. The circle is complete. No mirrors within mirrors this time.
- Lights, Camera, E20! page added Did you see [insert celebrity] filming [insert blockbuster] in East Village? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, you can now explore EV’s movie-making hotspots and pretend you’re in a director’s commentary.
Familia Roasters business page A new coffee shop has opened near the DLR. Support your local caffeine dealers.
Improved
- Metadata We shoved metadata into every nook and cranny of our business listings. It’s basically SEO with a gym membership now.
- Search Powered up thanks to all that metadata. Try searching for “brunch” and watch it actually return brunch things. Witchcraft.
- Business Listings Listings now come with addresses and maps so you no longer need to wander East Village guided only by vibes.
Removed
- Hand Café RIP Hand Café. Gone, but not forgotten (mostly because we had to remove their page).
- El Cafecito Also closed. Also removed. The café Thanos snap continues.
10th December 2025

New
- Featured Groups Groups can now become featured on the Clubs & Groups homepage. Fame awaits.
- Verification
for Groups & Clubs Groups can now get
Verified - complete with an honest-to-goodness blue tick. It’s not for sale, it doesn’t come with superpowers (yet), but it does say: “This group is the real deal.” If you run a group and want to wear the badge of honour, come talk to us.
Improved
- Listings across Local Businesses Clubs & Groups , and News got a layout glow-up.
- Fonts, colours, and icons also had a spa day.
Removed
- We’ve temporarily removed dark mode. It wasn’t behaving. It knows what it did.
Bug fixes
- There was a bug where lists only showed 10 items. We fixed it so you can now scroll like you’re training for a thumb marathon.
3rd December 2025
