Rondo Stratford is a new residential development being built on the former coach and taxi rank site beside Stratford International Station. Once complete, it will provide around 380 new homes, including 133 affordable units, across two towers built above a shared podium.
The scheme is being delivered by Telford Homes, one of the UK’s largest build-to-rent developers, with HG Construction as the main contractor. The project sits immediately south of the DLR and Southeastern high-speed lines, opposite Westfield Stratford City and close to East Village E20.
The buildings will include ground-floor space for commercial or community uses, along with landscaped areas designed to improve the streetscape and pedestrian links between Stratford International and Westfield.
What It Means for Local Residents
Positive impacts
- The project will bring new residents to the area, supporting nearby shops, cafés and services.
- Public realm improvements will make walking routes between the station, Westfield and East Village safer and more attractive.
- New affordable homes contribute to Stratford’s overall housing mix.
Points to monitor
- Construction activity continues through 2024–25; residents near International Way and Celebration Avenue may experience some noise and traffic while works progress.
- Heavy vehicle movements and site deliveries may affect local roads at peak times. A Construction Management Plan is in place to minimise disruption.
- Details of the ground-floor commercial spaces have not yet been confirmed — local residents are encouraged to engage with the developer to advocate for community-friendly uses.
