GetLiving Key Fobs
On the day you move in to a GetLiving property, you'll be given a key fob. This is a keyless entry system that gives you access to the building, your home, and locked communal areas. It also controls access to some of the lifts.
If you need access to the car park, or to other buildings in East Village (for example, if a member of your family is living in another building), please contact GetLiving directly.
Using your key fob
To enter the building lobby area:
- Hold your eAccess fob against the fob reader on the entry panel outside the building
- If the fob is authorised, the display panel will show "PLEASE ENTER" and the door lock will be released
- Push the door to enter.
The entrance door will lock again after a pre-set delay period.
To leave the building, press the "PRESS TO EXIT" button on the wall near the door. The door lock will be released. Pull the door to exit.
If the button fails to release the door lock, please try pressing it again. If, after several attempts, it is not working, push hard on the face of the green box marked "EMERGENCY DOOR RELEASE" located next to the "PRESS TO EXIT" button. Then pull the door to exit.
For security reasons, whenever an "EMERGENCY DOOR RELEASE" button is activated, Team East Village will be alerted automatically so that the problem can be promptly investigated and repaired.
To use the lifts
There are up to four lifts in your building. On the upper basement and ground floors, these are secure so you can only use them if you have a valid fob or, for visitors, a PIN code. Hold your fob up to the fob reader at the lift call buttons.
The lift call buttons on other floors do not require cards.
To get in and out of your home
Hold your fob against the fob reader above the handle. If the fob is authorised, the LED will flash green and the door will unlock. You can then open the door by pressing down the handle. When you close the door, it locks automatically.
Opening the door from inside
Once you've shut the door behind you, it locks automatically and you can't move the handle. To open the door, press the black button at the top of the back plate. The door is then unlocked and you can move the handle — as can anyone outside.
Mechanical emergency release
In the event of battery failure or other fault, the door can be opened from the inside using mechanical emergency release.
To do this, press and hold the small metal button below the black push button while pushing the handle down.
Once you've opened the door using the mechanical emergency release, address the cause of the problem (for example, replace the batteries or report a fault).
My fob is no longer working: what do I do?
Contact GetLiving who can reprogramme your existing fob. This can be done remotely.
Visitor access
When visitors arrive, they will need to call your apartment number from the panel outside the building.
You receive the call on your door entry system phone, which is located by the front door of your apartment. You can then speak to them and see who they are on the screen.
If you're happy to let them in, press the keyboard icon button on the touch screen, followed by 1 and then 1 again to release the door.
A buzzer will sound outside the building to let the caller know that the door is unlocked.
Once in the building, visitors can use the stairs freely but can only use the lift if you give them a PIN code that we will provide.
