Welcome to East Village Hub.
This project was created to make life in East Village easier, more connected, and more informed - for residents, visitors, and the businesses that bring life to the neighbourhood.
It’s a not-for-profit, community-driven project run by one person, with one simple goal:
help people discover what’s happening around them and support the places that make East Village special.
This page explains how your business can appear on the Hub, what you can share, and how to get involved.
What the East Village Hub is
The Hub is a digital guide to living in East Village.
It brings together:
- Local businesses
- Clubs, groups, and community projects
- News and updates
- Neighbourhood tips
- Area safety info
- Events
- Exclusive offers for residents
Some of this comes from public sources, some from the community, and some directly from the businesses themselves.
The purpose is to:
- Help residents discover what’s nearby
- Encourage people to support local businesses
- Make East Village feel more connected
- Share information people usually only hear through WhatsApp groups
- Bring small updates, events, and offers into one place
It’s simple, free, and built to serve the neighbourhood.
Your business on the Hub
Every business in East Village can have a dedicated page on the Hub.
Your page includes:
- Your name
- Your address and map
- Website and social links
- A short description
- Photos (optional)
Each page is designed to be clear, helpful, and easy for residents to use on mobile.
If your business doesn’t have a page yet, or you’d like something improved, just get in touch - it only takes a couple of minutes to make updates.
Sharing updates, news & announcements
Businesses can share short updates with the community, including:
- New menu items
- Opening hour changes
- Renovations
- Job vacancies
- Holiday information
These updates appear on your business page, the news section, and may also appear on the Hub homepage depending on relevance.
Just email the details and they’ll be added for you.
Posting events
If you’re hosting events - tastings, workshops, live music, fitness sessions, markets, classes - you can share them on the Hub.
An event listing includes:
- Event name
- Date and time
- Description
- Cost (if any)
- Link to tickets or booking
- Where it’s happening
Events are one of the most-requested features from residents, and they help drive foot traffic to local businesses.
Sharing offers for residents
Local businesses sometimes want to offer something special to residents - a free coffee, a discount, a limited-time perk, or something fun.
The Hub includes a simple system where:
- You tell us what the offer is
- We set a limit if needed (e.g., “first 20 people”)
- Residents claim the offer online
- You check their Claim ID at the counter
- We help handle availability and prevent duplicates
Offers are optional, but they are a great way to:
- Reach new customers
- Re-engage locals
- Celebrate openings or milestones
- Promote quiet times of day
You can run an offer once, occasionally, or regularly.
Why participate?
Local businesses benefit from:
- Increased visibility
- A dedicated, mobile-friendly page about your business
- Residents discovering you when searching for food, coffee, gifts, or services
- A single place to share updates without managing multiple platforms
- Being part of a neighbourhood project that residents already trust
- Opportunities to promote offers, events, and news directly to the community
The Hub is not a marketplace, directory, or advertising platform.
It’s a neighbourhood resource - and your voice helps make it richer and more useful.
How to update your page
Just send an email with:
- New menu
- New photos
- Description changes
- Social links
- Anything else you’d like added
Updates normally appear the same day, but remember - we’re a one-man-band, so it can take a little longer at times.
How to publish updates, events, or offers
You can email:
- Text (we’ll edit for clarity if needed)
- Images
- Dates/times
- Links
- Any details the community should know
We’ll format it so it looks good on the Hub.
Get involved
